Qatar Airways, with CCN, gets Philippine Agents Geared Up for eAWB

Qatar Airways Cargo-Philippines and CCN gathered PH agents together to discuss the eAWB initiative

PHILIPPINES - With the push for eAWB and eFreight, Cargo Community Network (CCN) has developed a range of eAWB services, to make it easier for the stakeholders to adopt eAWB and eFreight in their operations.

In the Philippines, the airfreight industry is gearing up for eAWB - to automate and take advantage of  information technology. The first step is enabling the Philippine agents to submit FWBs. CCN provides CCNhub, the collaborative portal that facilitates the eAWB exchanges and sharing within the airfreight industry.

"Qatar Airways Cargo is fully committed to making eAWB a success. Our joint initiative with CCN is a first step towards this campaign. We are looking forward to the implementation of eAWB by the airfreight industry in PH soon." says Ray Samonte, Cargo Manager for Qatar Airways Cargo - Philippines.

As a neutral party, CCN can host one true copy of the eAWB which will be stored in its database for 5 years as per accounting requirements. It can therefore be accessed and printed for recording and dispute purposes.

Once cargo is accepted by the ground handling agent and an electronic status update of RCS – Ready for Carriage – is sent, CCN will generate a Cargo Receipt which the agents can access and print via CCNhub, when necessary.  It is an official document, in the absence of a physical copy of MAWB, for shipment accepted and is kept in the database up to 5 years.

Another important feature of CCN’s eAWB services is that CCN will also provide notification alerts when there is a difference in the weight and pieces after cargo lodge-in with the details contained in FWB sent.  The alerts can be via email and agents can revise their FWB quickly so there is minimal delay to the cargo acceptance process. With CCN's solutions, you are both eFreight and eAWB ready.
